I was never good at maths.
Which is why, when counting backwards from the date of the Virgin London Marathon 2013, I got a nasty shock as I realised that week one of my 16 week marathon training plan was LAST WEEK!
Luckily for me, (he said smugly) I’d completed a six mile run on new year’s eve which more than counted for missing my very first marathon training run (a measly three miles – I’m on a beginners schedule) and that quashed any panic/guilt I might have felt. Since then, I’ve completed the three other runs necessary for week one, including a foggy five miler yesterday.
This is week two – I’ll keep you posted of my progress.
